Step 1

Is PDR right for your damage?

PDR works in most cases — but not every case. Here’s how to know where your damage likely falls before you even send photos.

PDR works well for this

  • Door dings and parking lot impacts
  • Hail damage with multiple small dents
  • Dents where paint is fully intact
  • Dents on flat or gently curved panels
  • EV and aluminum panels (with proper training)
  • Luxury and exotic vehicles
  • Body line creases handled case by case

Depends on the specifics — send photos

  • Dents directly on a sharp body line
  • Very deep impacts on a single small area
  • Older vehicles with brittle or thin paint
  • Panels that have been previously repaired
  • Damage near panel edges or seams

PDR is not the right solution

  • Paint is cracked, chipped, or peeling
  • Metal is creased so sharply it has stretched
  • Rust present on or around the dent
  • Panel is structurally compromised

Not sure? That’s what photos are for

  • Send photos and Joe evaluates it personally
  • Response within minutes — no appointment needed
  • If PDR isn’t right, he’ll tell you that directly
  • No obligation — evaluation is always free

Step 2

How the process works

From your first message to driving away — here’s exactly what happens.

1

Send photos of the damage

Take a few clear photos — one from straight on, one from an angle to show the depth, and one from the side so the shadow shows the dent shape. That’s it.

Best lighting: overcast natural light or shade. Avoid direct sun — it flattens the dent in the photo. Garage lighting at an angle works well too.
2

Get a real estimate — within minutes

Joe reviews the photos personally and responds with a clear number. Not a range with an asterisk. Not “we’ll have to see it in person.” A real answer based on what the photos actually show.

If the photos aren’t clear enough to give a confident number, he’ll tell you exactly what to reshoot — not stall with a vague quote.
3

Schedule your repair

Most repairs are available same-week. Bring the vehicle to the Upland shop — drop it off in the morning, pick it up that afternoon in most cases. Mobile service available for qualifying repairs.

Upland, CA — serving Claremont, La Verne, Glendora, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, and surrounding Inland Empire communities.
4

Repair completed — drive away the same day

No drying time. No paint fumes. No waiting on parts. The metal is reshaped from behind, the factory finish stays on the car, and the result is checked before you take the keys.

Every repair carries a satisfaction guarantee. If the result doesn’t meet the agreed standard, no charge is applied.
5

No Carfax record. Factory finish intact.

PDR done out of pocket leaves no insurance claim, no body shop report, and no damage entry on your vehicle history. Your Carfax stays clean, your paint stays original, and your resale value is protected.

Photo Guide

How to photograph your dent

Three shots is all it takes. These angles give Joe what he needs to give you a real number.

Straight On

Face the dent directly. This shows the size and general location on the panel.

Low Angle / Shadow Shot

Crouch down and shoot across the panel surface. Shadow shows depth — this is the most important shot.

Wide Context Shot

Step back and show the full panel. Helps confirm location, body lines, and panel edges.

Common Questions

Things people wonder before they reach out

You’re probably not the first person to think this.

“I don’t know if my dent is bad enough to bother.”
Send the photos. There’s no minimum severity required to get an evaluation. If it’s bothering you, it’s worth knowing what it would take to fix it.
“I heard PDR doesn’t really work.”
Poor PDR results come from undertrained technicians. Done correctly with the right tools and experience, PDR is technically the superior repair — the factory finish stays on the car, no paint.
“Should I just go through insurance?”
Get a PDR estimate first. Filing a claim creates a Carfax record that follows your vehicle permanently and can cost you more at resale than the repair itself.
“I have a Tesla / EV — can PDR even fix it?”
Yes, with the right technician. EVs use aluminum panels that behave differently than steel. Joe has specific training and experience on aluminum. Send photos — let the evaluation speak.
“I got a cheaper quote somewhere else.”
A lower quote usually means filler, inexperience, or underestimating the damage. PDR results are either correct or they’re not. Dent Evo prices based on difficulty — not on beating a number.
“I’m not sure it’s worth fixing before I sell.”
A clean Carfax and clean panels are real money at trade-in and private sale. A $350 PDR repair that adds $800–$1,500 in resale value is worth running the math on.
