Evaluation-First Approach

A Controlled, Methodical Process — Not a Quick Fix

Paintless Dent Repair is the precise process of reshaping metal from behind the panel using specialized tools — restoring the original factory finish without paint, filler, or a body shop visit.

Done correctly, the result is indistinguishable from factory condition. Done incorrectly, you will know it. That is why every repair at Dent Evo begins with a thorough evaluation — determining what is actually possible before any work begins.

PDR is not the right solution for every dent. Joe will tell you honestly when it is, and when another path makes more sense. That clarity is part of what clients come here for.

  • Factory paint preserved — original finish stays intact
  • No Carfax damage record — resale value protected
  • No unnecessary drilling or disassembly
  • Evaluation-based — not guesswork
  • Outcome-focused, not speed-focused

What Sets This Apart

This is not a volume shop. Dent Evo is built for clients who want to understand their options and make an informed decision — not just get the lowest quote.

Evaluation First

Every repair begins with an honest assessment. Joe determines what is realistic, what level of result is achievable, and whether PDR is the right path for your specific damage and goals.

Controlled Process

No unnecessary drilling. No guesswork. Advanced techniques including glue pulling and precise metal control — applied deliberately, with the goal of preserving the original finish.

Outcome-Focused

The goal is to restore the panel as closely as possible to its original condition — without unnecessary risk. Speed is never the priority. The right result is.

Real Repairs. Real Results.

Every video shows a real vehicle and a real dent being restored. No editing, no shortcuts — just the process.

How It Works

Clear, straightforward from first contact to completed repair.

1

Send Your Photos

Text or email clear photos of the damage. Joe evaluates the dent type, panel location, and access — remotely, before any appointment.

2

Honest Evaluation

You receive a clear answer: whether PDR is the right path, what result is realistic, and which repair option fits your vehicle and goals.

3

Schedule at the Shop

Book at the Upland shop at a time that works. Most repairs are completed the same day. No surprises.

4

Drive Away Restored

Your vehicle leaves looking as close to factory condition as the panel will allow. No Carfax record. No paint smell. No guesswork.

You already know which one you are.

Not every client wants the same outcome. The difference comes down to refinement, not quality. Both options preserve your factory finish. Both include a satisfaction guarantee or no charge applied.

Premium

You already know the difference.

You’ve stood next to a repainted panel before. Maybe you couldn’t name it — just something in how the light moved across the surface that felt wrong. You know what original condition means because you’ve seen what it looks like when it’s gone. The result here has to be indistinguishable from factory. Not close. Indistinguishable.

  • Correct from all angles and lighting conditions
  • Final details refined until flawless — or as close as the panel allows
  • Extra time and precision spent on refinement, not just correction
  • The finish will not call attention to itself under any light

Practical

You want it handled.

You’re not chasing perfection on paper. The dent is there. It’s bothering you. You want a clean, honest result from someone who actually knows what they’re doing — not a chain shop, not guesswork. You drive away satisfied. That’s the goal. That’s enough.

  • Clean, well-corrected appearance at normal viewing distance
  • Looks natural and presentable from common angles
  • Primary correction is the focus — not chasing the smallest details
  • 30% reduced cost — not quality
Pricing is based on difficulty — size, depth, panel location, body lines, material, and access. These factors can only be assessed correctly with photos or in person. A quote given without that information is not an honest quote. How pricing actually works →

Damage determines the number.

Every quote is built from the actual damage — not a price sheet, not a guess. These ranges reflect the most common repair types. Photos or an in-person look confirms the exact cost.

Door Dings & Minor Dents

$195 – $350

Typical single-panel dent with intact paint

  • The metal is reshaped from behind — the dent doesn’t improve, it disappears
  • No filler underneath, no paint on top — nothing hiding anything
  • The panel looks exactly like it did before it was hit
  • Most door ding repairs complete within a few hours
  • Satisfaction guarantee or no charge applied

Complex & Large Panel Repairs

$500 – $4,000

Body line creases, multi-panel damage, hail & EV panels

  • Large impact zones, body line creases, hail across multiple panels
  • The kind of damage most shops replace instead of repair
  • Complexity drives the cost — not materials, not paint, not guesswork
  • Still no paint — still no Carfax record — no matter the size
  • Satisfaction guarantee or no charge applied
How is the price determined? Every repair is evaluated individually based on dent size, depth, location, metal type (aluminum vs. steel), panel access, and overall complexity — because not all dents are equal. Door ding-type repairs typically range from $195–$350. Complex damage involving large impacts, creases, multiple panels, or specialty materials falls under Premium pricing. In both cases, you keep your original factory paint, avoid a Carfax damage record, and every completed repair carries a satisfaction guarantee or no charge applied.
“My goal is simple: deliver the highest level result the panel will allow — without compromising the original finish. Not every dent needs the same approach. I’ll tell you honestly what’s possible, and what isn’t.”

Joe Garcia
Founder & Master PDR Technician, Dent Evo

28 Years of Earned Expertise

Joe Garcia started in PDR in 1997 in dealership environments — high-volume work that built an unshakeable technical foundation. For years he saw the gap between “acceptable” and what was actually possible.

In 2014, Joe trained with Paul Kordon and implemented a structured, transparent pricing model — making Dent Evo one of the first PDR operations in Southern California to price based on difficulty, not guesswork. The local market pushed back. Joe stayed the course. The right clients found him.

Today, clients travel from across Southern California for repairs that require genuine skill: complex creases, body line damage, hail-covered luxury vehicles, and EV panels that demand precision. Every repair begins with an honest evaluation of what’s possible — and what isn’t.

  • Based in Upland, CA — serving foothill communities and beyond
  • In PDR since 1997 — 28+ years of deliberate practice
  • Evaluation-first approach — honest guidance, not a sales pitch
  • Capable on EV platforms including aluminum construction

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a dent repair show up on my Carfax report?
PDR done out of pocket does not generate a Carfax record. No insurance claim, no body shop report, nothing in the vehicle history. The only way a PDR repair appears on Carfax is if you filed an insurance claim to cover it — in that case, the claim itself gets reported, regardless of the repair method. This is one of the most important reasons to pay out of pocket for smaller damage: the Carfax stays clean, and a clean Carfax is real money at trade-in or private sale.
How much does paintless dent repair cost in Upland and the Inland Empire?
Door dings and minor single-panel dents typically run $195–$350. Complex repairs — body line creases, large impact zones, hail damage across multiple panels, EV aluminum panels — range from $500 to $4,000 depending on scope. Pricing is based on actual difficulty: size, depth, panel location, body line involvement, material, and access. A real quote requires seeing the damage. Send photos and you’ll have a number back within minutes.
Can PDR fix a dent on my Tesla, Rivian, or other EV?
Yes — with the right technician. EVs use aluminum body panels, and aluminum behaves differently than steel. It doesn’t have the same elastic memory, and it work-hardens if handled incorrectly. Joe has specific training and experience on aluminum panels used by Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, and others. If you’ve been told your EV can’t be repaired with PDR, it’s worth getting a second opinion.
Is PDR as good as a body shop repair, or is it a shortcut?
For dents where PDR is appropriate, it is technically the superior repair — not a shortcut. A body shop repair replaces the original finish with a new one. PDR restores the original. The factory paint that came on the vehicle stays on the vehicle. A knowledgeable buyer running a paint thickness gauge over the panels will see factory readings on a PDR-repaired car and above-stock readings on a repainted one. Body shop work is visible to anyone who knows how to look. PDR, done right, is not.
Should I go through insurance or pay out of pocket for a dent?
For smaller damage — a door ding, a few hail dents, a minor panel impact — paying out of pocket for PDR usually makes more financial sense. Filing a claim creates a Carfax entry that follows the vehicle permanently. That entry affects what buyers and dealers will offer at resale, often by more than the deductible you saved. For extensive damage where costs significantly exceed your deductible, insurance becomes more appropriate. The right first step is always to get a PDR estimate before deciding whether to file.
How long does a PDR repair take? Do you offer same-day service?
Most standard repairs are completed the same day — drop off in the morning, pick up that afternoon. A single door ding typically takes one to two hours. Larger or more complex repairs may take a full day. Unlike body shop work, there’s no drying time, no curing time, no waiting on parts. Joe gives you a realistic timeframe with your estimate so there are no surprises on pickup day.
