Welcome! First Blog Post

Welcome to The Dent Evo blog! Here I’ll be posting from time to time about all things Paintless Dent Repair (PDR).

In recent years I’ve come to realize that all this stuff inside my head, well the “denty” stuff should go somewhere other than just staying locked up in the old melon.

Yup, that’s me, your resident dent nerd, Joe Garcia!

Useless information? Depends, I suppose. Dents on car bodies really are, in the bigger scheme of things dare I say, trivial…that is until you get one! Even still, it really depends on who’s on the receiving end and how much the newly dented car matters to that person. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

But I suppose since you’re reading this, you and I will from here on out “talk dents”, like it’s very important stuff. Because it is. It’s important to me, because it’s important to the other person who’s relying on me to rid them of their problem. It’s important to you because well, you’re reading this! And thank you for that by the way.

I mean, for what it’s worth there’s over two decades of PDR experience stored up in this one track mind of mine after all. Even though there was about five or six (or seven) lost years in there. Those were the years where I had grown complacent somehow and in various ways, for various reasons.

A lot of that had to do primarily with not fully understanding truly why I was even doing this dent removal thing as a profession (other than for income), whom I was serving, and in what way. I’m talking meaning of life stuff here! More about that in future blog posts. I will manage to squeeze in, small doses of my philosophy regarding service to my fellow humans (in this unique and sometimes kookie way), doing the work that matters, as well as the many mistakes I’ve made along the way along with a few smart choices, arriving at this place of understanding and realization. Again, in small doses.

In the meantime, what you can expect mostly in this blog is posts, occasionally brief and sometimes total deep dives, centered around the topic of PDR.

That is I may describe in one post, a certain type or model of car with unique or interesting characteristics and how they pertain to the Paintless Dent Removal process, while in another, I may do a complete deep dive into various aspects of the craft, such as the art of “knocking down” metal. Knocking down is the process dent repair technicians use for flattening high spots in metal, caused both intentionally or unintentionally (read by accident), during the PDR process, as well as by whatever caused the dent (the ripple effect and metal displacement), to begin with.

For sure you can expect many a post (and a video or two) of me using the glue pull method. Ahh yes, the glue pull method, that exciting and alluring process of hot glueing a tab onto dented metal, attaching something to it and look out…you too can be a dent fixer! Exciting stuff.

The Paintless Dent Repair process really has evolved and in doing so, it has ultimately arrived.

PDR’s time has come indeed, as it truly is the best possible way to repair dents, when performed properly that is, producing results that are closest to showroom, factory condition than any other option, especially conventional body & paint repair. There are all kinds of advantages to going Paintless.

Anywho, I’m starting to sound like a commercial, so that’s it for now. I’ve got to recharge now so this metal bending machine can do it’s thing manana. Thanks for reading!
