How much does it cost?
We price Large Dents and Damage using the same process that we use to price small dings and dents.
Using our Pricing Guide, Large Dent Removal cost is based on size, depth, location (on the vehicle), as well as other variables like removal and installation of trim panels and/or components.
That being said, large Dent or Damage Paintless Dent Removal cost can sometimes exceed typical insurance deductibles, so you do have the option of filing a claim with your insurance provider if you wish. If you do decide to go that route, we can help you to take the necessary steps to move forward with the process.
And of course, if you prefer to pay out of pocket instead, then that’s fine too!
Can I go through my insurance?
Yes. As stated above, we work with all of the major auto insurance providers. We will start by submitting an in person assessment/estimate of your damage. After your insurance representative makes contact, we can then move forward with scheduling the repair at your home or office. And there’s no need to rent a car, because in most cases, we can complete the repair for you in a day’s time, or less!
Do I have to report it to my insurance?
Absolutely not. As said before, you may opt to pay out of pocket, leaving insurance out of it. This may be the best option for you if our price estimate for your large dent or damage is around the same amount of your insurance deductible.

Will I need a rental car?
Absolutely not! Unless you want one! Now, if for some reason, after we assess your large dent or damage, we determine that the repair will take longer than a day’s time, then it might be a considerable option. We will always let you know the expected duration of the repair, in advance. Most often, our large dent repairs are completed in a matter of hours.
How long will it take?
Most of the time our process for large dent and damage Removal is completed in a matter of hours. As stated above, we adhere to a strict Repair Assessment Process that enables us to accurately predict an estimated time of delivery. That being said, depending on the factors involved with your large dent or damage, you can expect repair time to vary anywhere from 1 hour to 10 hours. Again, we will be able to provide you with an accurate assessment of the time needed for your repair once we inspect the damage in person.

What if my Large Dent has existing paint damage?
We can technically still remove Large Dents and damage from your vehicle if there is existing paint damage.
It really just depends on the extent of the existing paint damage though.
Often times with Large Dents, the paint issues are minor enough to be addressed with touch up paint, or even carefully polished out. We can provide you with this service if necessary.
If the scratches, chips, or broken paint are significant enough that polishing or touch up paint will not improve the damage, then we will usually recommend Conventional Auto Body and Paint Repair. We can put you in touch with a reputable Body Shop in your area.
Even still, some of our customers will opt to live with the existing paint damage and have us perform our process in order to at least improve the look of their car. Addressing the paint issues on their own at a later time. We can help you determine if this is a viable option for you or not.
NO PAINTING INVOLVED! Here is a great example of a Large Dent/Damage Repair with existing paint scratches, on this VW Atlas. Initially, we had suggested Conventional Body & Paint work, but our Client absolutely didn’t want to deal with the body shop, and instead opted for significant improvement and some minor scratches in the end. Our Repair Assessment Process allowed us to determine that it was indeed a good candidate for our method, before actually proceeding with the job.
Do you also do paint work?
Aside from small area paint correction (polishing) and minor paint touch up on chips or scratches, we do not specialize in paint work.
If your vehicle requires general paint work, we can put you in touch with a reputable service, suitable for your needs and damage. We can refer you to a vetted local Body Shop as well as a qualified Mobile Paint Repair Service, depending on your needs.
Can any dent removal company adequately remove Large Dents or damage?
No! Please be aware that not all Dent Removal services are playing by the same rules.
At Dent Evo, we do things by the book. We are precise about how we operate, because we want to be able to provide our customers with the best possible solution available… ie, Factory spec condition of their car, conveniently performed at their home or office.
There are Dent Removal Professionals out there that are concerned primarily with just getting the job, no matter what. They may make promises that they cannot deliver, for fear of losing the opportunity to get your money.
This very often leads to poor judgment calls, subpar repairs, and worst of all a vehicle that’s been ruined.
Here lately, there’s also the ever growing existence of “mobile body shops” who offer Dent Removal to your location. There method is much different than ours as it involves the use of Body Fillers (Bondo), followed by repainting your vehicle’s dented panel.
This is NOT the method we use to repair your vehicle.
Even still, these companies cover a lot of ground and serve many customers who are satisfied with the low price and less concerned with the quality or resale value of their car. So these lower end services get plenty of five star reviews nonetheless.
This can make it a little confusing to the person who is meticulous about their car or who’s vehicle carries a higher resale value, thus needing a higher level option.
Please understand, that you get one chance for your large dent or damage to be removed cleanly and accurately. More often than not, bad dent repair attempts can only be corrected with Conventional Body and Paint methods (repainted at a Body Shop).

Can a Body Shop That offers PDR, fix my Large Dent?
The short answer is yes. However, the problem we often see with Auto Body Shops who offer PDR, is that they typically will opt to use the lower price Paintless Dent Removal Services. They are a business after all, so they typically will go with the cheap guy in order to justify their profit margin.
This may (and often does) create conflict, when their Dent Removal Professional “go to guy” either attempts the repair and provides a subpar result, or worse yet, misdiagnoses the problem as “requiring Conventional Body and Re-Paint” if the Large Dent or Damage exceeds his skill level or pay grade. At this point, who do you really think benefits from that situation? Not the vehicle owner, because their car is then being repainted, when it perhaps doesn’t require it.
Now, this is not a slam on Body Shops and Collision Centers, as they do have their place in performing car repairs, even when it comes to dings & dents when the damage is not a great candidate for Paintless Dent Removal. We do occasionally perform repairs for a few local Body Shops and Collision Centers who call us when they feel that they are dealing with a well informed customer who knows the difference between a high-quality repair and a so-so repair.
Even still, many other Body Shops who are offering Paintless Dent Removal are not in the least concerned about preserving your car’s factory finish.
The bottom line is that Body Shops and Collision Centers simply don’t specialize in high level Paintless Dent Removal. For them it is simply an “add on” service for which they are the middleman.

This BMW M2 had sustained roof damage that could have been completely removed, using our non-invasive Glue Pull Method. Instead, a local Body Shop authorized, Dent Removal Professional had attempted the repair and created significant damage in the process. To top it off, when he could not repair the damage, he misdiagnosed the problem and suggested to the customer that it will require conventional Body and Paint Repair, which would have led to a complete roof panel replacement!
Thankfully, the body shop knew how picky our Client was and suggested he call Dent Evo. We were able to help. He was lucky that the damage created wasn’t completely beyond repair.

Unnecessary Damage Caused
This door jamb on a Chevy Traverse shows the chips & wear marks from a Body Shop authorized PDR Tech who carelessly pryed his dent repair rod against the painted surface in order to push out the dent on the adjacent door. He also drilled a hole in the frame of the rear door for access. Both of these issues could have been avoided, had he used a little more time and a little more care, but again you get what you pay for.
Chains of Habit
It’s important to know that these poor attempts at PDR were not performed by some newbie or parking lot lurker, but rather by longtime Dent Repair Professionals. Veteran technicians who were authorized by Body Shops.
Why would they make these mistakes?
I believe the reason why these errors are commonly made, is simply because the technician is in a hurry. They do not take the time to properly assess the damage in the first place. Or they get into the bad habit of favoring the easier jobs while avoiding the challenging ones, suggesting Conventional Body and Paint Repair as an easy way out. Many PDR professionals who are pandering to low price, consider complex, extensive, and large dents & damage to be a burden on their productivity.
Often, when dealing directly with the vehicle owner, if the damage appears to be too extensive for the PDR Professional, they will give their customer a “Go Away Price”, hoping the car owner will move on. tThis works until the prospect says yes. Suddenly, the tech finds themself in the unfavorable position of having to make good on their agreement, and thus makes a sorry attempt to go through the motions, never really intending to fix the damage and hoping their customer will just take their word and ship the car to the Body Shop.
It’s common for the lower price PDR professionals to experience burnout, complacency, and incompetence simply because they lack the framework or program to work smartly and effectively on dings, dents, or large damage that is challenging, as well as the inability to provide a harmonious service experience for their customer. This really does create a vicious cycle which we see all too often…in the poorly attempted Dent Repair jobs that vehicle owners bring to us. Sadly, more often than not, these poorly attempted dent repairs are assessed and determined unfixable with our process, and end up requiring Conventional Body & Paint Work.

A Close Call
Our customer Jeremy had taken his brand new, less than 1000 mile, Tahoe to a local Collision Center after a shopping cart hit his aluminum rear door. The body shop had their dent guy look at it, and misdiagnosed the problem as requiring conventional body and paint repair. The body shop wanted to replace the entire door (because they do not have the capability to work on aluminum), and repaint his brand new vehicle. He wasn’t having it, so he found us and we took care of it in a couple hours at his home. We saved this brand new SUV from being repainted!
