What exactly is Factory Spec Dent Repair/Dent Removal?
To put it briefly, what we mean by Factory Spec is: Original, Factory Condition.
As in, restoring your car’s dented panel back to the way it was before it was dented. The way your car was and how it was intended to be when it was manufactured. Both cosmetically and structurally. Inside and out. Yes, this is possible!
Dent Removal Without Painting
When performed properly, Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) can produce results that are closer to original, factory condition than any other repair method available. Even and especially better than conventional body and paint repair methods.
Why? Because your factory paint will be left intact after our repair is completed. In other words, there is no painting involved, using the PDR process.

The fact is, no PDR Technician or service is ever going to admit to you that their workmanship is less than satisfactory. They want your business after all, but in trying to cater to low price, the average dent removal technician or company will often tend to rush through the repair at the expense of the quality of the finished product. Speed is their primary concern so they can quickly move on to the next job... and leave yours looking so-so, at best.

Because it’s cheap. I don’t actually think anyone ever chooses subpar workmanship, but when they choose the low price guy, that is what they ultimately end up with. We Take Our Time
Once again, we utilize steps that allow us to slow down the repair just a bit, in order to produce a finished result with your dent that is as close to factory condition as possible.
If you watch any of our videos, your keen eye may even capture some slight distortion in the reflection or a little “wiggle“ here or there in the lines. We try to be transparent about the true results of our process.
In contrast, see if our competitors are this candid with their repairs. Many of them simply don’t provide high definition, close-up video proof of the finished product, let alone their process. While they may provide lots of before and after pictures, they are unfortunately telling you only part of the story. Ask them to show you as much proof as we do, and then choose for yourself!
What about when a Dent cannot be done to factory spec?
Sometimes we see damage that’s significant or complex enough that only an improvement is possible to achieve, with the Paintless Dent Repair Method.
Our Repair Assessment Process allows us to determine if a dent is a good candidate for our method or not.
By slowing down the assessment and estimation process we can generally determine how much improvement is possible and whether or not the end result will be adequate for you.
We call this type of repair an “Improvement Repair”. And yes, we do perform them.
If a dent has an existing scratch or is excessively sharp or deep, or perhaps it overlaps the edge of the panel, it may be categorized as an Improvement Repair.
That being said, our standards are indeed high, as you may have already guessed. Therefore, we are not in the business to go around leaving subpar or noticeably imperfect repairs. So it’s our responsibility to be honest with you as to what the expected results will be, from the get go.

Does Factory Spec Dent Removal involve hole drilling?
The short answer is no. If a technician needs to drill a hole to access behind a Dent, then in our opinion, it’s not a Factory Spec Repair. Ultimately this is an alteration of the vehicle.
Now that being said, there are times when the only way to remove some damage cleanly is to indeed create an access point by drilling a hole.
At Dent Evo, this is ALWAYS a last resort option that through our advising and guidance, is ultimately left as a choice for our customer to decide whether they would like to proceed with the repair, or not.
Furthermore, we will never drill a hole in a structural part of the vehicle as well as anywhere in the vehicle that will appear obvious or as though it’s not meant to be there (Non-Factory).
Once again, the assessment process plays a big role here, because as stated before, if we take the time to systematically analyze the damage before we even touch your car, this will allow us to determine whether or not drilling a hole is the best option.
Most of the time, there are better ways to access the dent, like carefully removing an interior trim panel or component. Also, we have better options available now to remove damage noninvasively from the outside of the panel, using the “Glue Pull Method”. At Dent Evo we ultimately prefer to utilize other options, before opting to drill.

This is NOT Factory Spec Dent Repair but it is an example of how & where not to drill a hole! Our Client used a not so qualified PDR Service, & we did our best to try and correct it.
